A host's first season

The hosts
What changes once the guests actually start arriving.
Behind every listing is a person who has to answer the phone at the wrong hour. This is about that person, and what we look for before we ever put their place in front of you.
Vetted means visited
Someone from our team stays before you do. We check the things that don't photograph: the water at dawn, the backup power, how a host behaves when a plan slips.
A plain house with a host who answers beats a beautiful one who disappears.
Most places we see never make the calendar. That filter is the favour we're doing you.
